IPL uses high-energy pulses of light to rejuvenate the face by targeting pigmented brown spots, age spots, and sun spots. IPL lasers also target blood vessels, reducing visible redness. The light pulses stimulate collagen production, which helps reduce fine lines, resulting in a smoother, more radiant, and even complexion.
You will be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the light. The laser treatment feels like a rubber band snapping on your skin but should not be painful. Please let your provider know if you experience intense pain. The treatment lasts about 20 minutes.
The treated area may be red for a few hours after the treatment and may have a stinging sensation, which typically fades within 24 hours. You can use a cool pack to help with the discomfort. Please apply sunscreen after the treatment.
We ask that you come in with a clean face and no makeup.
You will see minor improvements in the first few weeks after the treatment; however, multiple sessions are required to achieve maximum results. The average person requires 3-4 treatments, though this can vary depending on skin type and skin issues. The exact number of treatments will be determined during your consultation with the doctor.
